E-Raze Tattoo Removal Questions and Answers

How long does it take?

E-Raze is the fastest non-surgical treatment to completely remove tattoo pigments from the skin. It takes between six to eight weeks for the treated area to heal sufficiently between treatments so a tattoo can be removed in a matter of months.

E-Raze is proven. The treatment process has been researched and developed over ten years and is has been used worldwide for over five years with many clinics in the US now offering the treatment. Some laser clinics have evn changed to using this system.

A single session takes about 45-60 minutes to cover an area of around 2x2 inches. On average, most tattoos can be removed after three to four sessions. Very old tattoos may need extra sessions. It will generally take about two weeks from the initial treatment for the crust to fall away, and normally about 8 weeks until the area is healed sufficiently to be re-treated.

E-Raze Before and After

Why E-Raze and not laser?

Laser tattoo removal relies on high energy pulses of light at specific wavelengths to break down the pigments which are then absorbed by the body. The wavelength that is used will vary depending on skin type, pigment colour and type of ink that was used in the tattoo. Because of this, it is very difficult to successfully remove all traces of ink from the skin.

Green and yellow ink are also difficult pigments for the laser to eliminate. E-raze is not dependant on the pigment, skin or depth of the tattoo so in most cases will be more successful that a Laser to completely remove the tattoo.

Are there any side effects?

There have been no lasting side effects documented arising out of the removal treatment. Thre area may be sore and redness may occur for around a week after the treatment and following the final treament the area may appear slightly redder than usual.

This redness should fade to normal skin colour after a few months.

None of the cases in the Cosmetic Dermatology April, 2001 study of 98 patients demonstrated destruction of the skins natural pigment, unlike laser where hypo/hyperpigmentation can be more common.
