Botox® Injections

...Some people have a distinctive facial habit like grimacing or raising the eyebrows. They will in time see a set of facial lines appear which reflect this individual habit.

Lines can be softened by fillers or medical peels, but these processes vary in how effective they are and how long they last. Treating fine lines and wrinkles is only a temporary solution. The damage has already been done, and continues to be done.

Why Botox®?

Botox is different in that it is a PREVENTATIVE treatment. Injections are given, usually to the forehead frown area which temporarily puts the frown muscles to sleep for a period of 3-4 months. This freezing of the muscle is always temporary and can never be permanent; this is why the treatment is called 'The HIBERNATION Treatment'; the muscle temporarily 'hibernates'.

Apart from the 'habit breaking' aim other positive benefits are that:

  • Frown lines are not being created or reinforced.
  • Existing frown lines soften out.
  • The face appears more serene.
  • Overactive muscles are weakened.

How Much will it Cost?

The price of your treatment depends on how many areas you think you need. The areas are the forehead, the glabella (in-between the eyes) and the crows feet (at the side of the eyes).

One area costs £195

Two areas costs £295

Three areas costs £340

The Treatment

Botox®

The injections take around 5-10 minutes. The nurse will ask you to pull faces by frowning, smiling and raising your eyebrows so that she can see the exact pattern of forehead and frown movement in the individual patient. The injections are slightly uncomfortable but brief, the full treatment should be over in about 10 minutes... giving you plenty of time for a cup of tea!!

After the Treatment

Afterwards you will have some tiny red marks for approximately one hour where the needle was inserted. The injection usually starts to take effect after about 3 or 4 days. You may notice during this time that it is becoming more difficult to frown. After 1 or 2 weeks the muscle will be completely frozen.
